During our first steps together, I asked if he smoked. He said he did, but wasn’t addicted. Consequently, I asked why not just stop since it’s not healthy? Without hesitation, he decided to quit right then. Furthermore, I discovered he truly kept that promise and never touched a cigarette again. Specifically, he took the time to understand my preferences and did everything within his power to meet my needs, revealing the true essence of an “Authentic Morocco Soul”.

在初次也是再次見面的那次旅程，我看見了他為愛的義無反顧。我曾問他你抽煙嗎？他說會但沒上癮。我說既然沒上癮為何不乾脆不抽？這不健康。他想了想問：「妳不喜歡抽煙的男生嗎？」我說對。他說他從那天開始就不抽了。後來我發現他認真守住了諾言。他了解我的喜好，並盡力滿足我所需要的一切，這讓我看見他本質上就是一個極為真誠、有愛、善解人意的男孩。

I saw not material wealth, but an inner richness grown from selfless love. For instance, when his mother was diagnosed with cancer, I witnessed how every family member sacrificed for her. Specifically, he resigned from his job at the desert camp to accompany her to every treatment, even while facing financial strain. It taught me that an ”Authentic Morocco Soul“ finds richness not in possessions, but in the boundless love passed down from parents.

Moreover, his kindness extends to the most vulnerable. Whether it’s crumbling his food to feed stray cats—often giving them more than he takes—or sharing his pre-dawn Ramadan meal with a hungry stranger, he gives without hesitation. Consequently, even when he ended up hungry himself, he only shared the quiet joy of helping with me. This is the beauty of an “Authentic Morocco Soul” that remains generous even when resources are scarce.

通常我們在物質匱乏的環境下成長，會有一些算計或計較。但在他身上，我看見全然不同的景象。吃飯時若有野貓討食，他會把食物剝碎餵貓，有時貓吃的甚至比他還多。昨日齋戒月，他辛苦工作後準備吃日出前的最後一餐，卻將食物分給了一位可憐的男子，自己沒吃飽卻只是默默地向我撒嬌。我想，內在匱乏的人是無法這樣分享的，這就是他在生活中最不一樣的日常。
